The Sunday June 24 Concert at THE MINT Spotlights the ‘VOCAL QUEENS & KINGS’ of Urban Music & Celebrates a BET AWARDS AfterParty with a Robust Line-Up & Special Guests
Los Angeles CA – The acclaimed new music compilation series ‘GOT SOUL!’ celebrates the release of Volume 2 with a Special BET AWARDS Weekend AfterParty & Concert event at THE MINT entitled ‘CELEBRATE THE BEST – CALI GOT SOUL!’ The soulful line-up is headed by vocal ‘queen’ ERIN STEVENSON, a singers’ singer, who has been the main backing vocalist for some of the biggest Superstars in the business for years and is passionate about her own solo career. Erin is currently singing with JENNIFER ‘J-LO’ LOPEZ in her spectacular Las Vegas residency drawing wide acclaim, in addition to globetrotting with mega hit producer/writer/artist PHARRELL WILLIAMS & others. She was JANET JACKSON’s main singers for over seven years & is the vocalist of choice for mega-platinum icons DURAN DURAN in their Worldwide Concerts. Erin is featured on the upcoming ‘GOT SOUL! 3 – New Soul Power’ coming out in the fall with her amazing new song ‘Don’t Touch’.
Joining Ms. Stevenson is highly acclaimed European born female singing sensation HET DUTCHESS from Denmark. Dutchess boasts a soaring soul reaching vocal range and is featured on the ‘GOT SOUL!’ series Volumes 1 & 2, with the songs ‘Broken Soul’ & ‘Rose Colored Glasses’ respectively, from her highly anticipated album ‘Journey Unfiltered’. Plus female up & coming soul star RUEPRATT from Washington DC’s ‘DMV’ region, & will be featured on ‘GOT SOUL! 3’. Special female Guest is longtime PRINCE singer MARVA KING, who backed the late great icon for many years & prior sang for STEVIE WONDER and starred in TYLER PERRY’s ‘Diary Of A Mad Black Woman’ on stage. Marva is featured on ‘GOT SOUL! 1 & 2, as well as fronts the new PRINCE spinoff group ‘POWER SOUL UNLIMITED’, featuring her and many of the legend’s key players and singers from his iconic tours.
On the male ‘Vocal Kings’ side, also from the East Coast is soul belter OG BLACK 9. Having worked with the likes of legendary group JODECI & other greats, OG delivers a spine tingling vocal style that makes the listener feel the depth of his soul & passion through his music. OG is featured on ‘GOT SOUL!’ volumes one & two, as well as world premiering a new soon-to-be Soul classic on Volume 3 out October 19. Joining BLACK 9 is male triple threat, STONE PAXTON, an award winning Artist-Writer & Producer (TROOP, RICK JAMES’ STONE CITY BAND, 2PAC & many more). Stone is featured on both ‘GOT SOUL!’ volumes with new songs from his forthcoming album, as well as premiering a new song on volume 3 after returning from his European ‘GOT SOUL!’ tour.
In addition the ‘afterparty’ segment of the show will feature acclaimed DJ MEECH in a set featuring a revolving cast of urban vocalists doing their singles alongside the turntablist.
